Sometimes you get the perfect validation that you did, indeed, - TopicsExpress

Sometimes you get the perfect validation that you did, indeed, steer the proper course at one point in your life. Suppose you had actually lived with someone for five months of your life nearly forty years ago. Would you, or would you not recall that person? We had zero in common, actually. She had a mediocre mind, smoked, believed in god, had apparently slept with any man that would have her, and was in every respect a non-entity. But I was young, stupid and lonely and so we lived together. It was 1976. I actually stumbled across her FB profile last Friday. Names and dates matched up -- she had a daughter named Sunni, born on my birthday. She had a sister whose married name was Stell. Both showed up on her friends list. So being the curious fellow that I am, I sent her a friend request. She sends me a message this morning: Do we know each other? No, apparently we dont. Nor, I suppose, would I particularly want to know anyone at this point in my life who parades around dressed up like a half-witted football fan, or who watches Fox News. Congratulations, self. That was one relationship that was destined to end in wreckage. I could be irritated that she doesnt even recall me, but its actually hilarious. I recall events in my life, way back to the age of two with clarity and precision. Names, faces, dates, I have it all. Someone who actually lives with another person for half a year and cannot recall it -- well, what kind of an addled brain would that person have? Certainly not in my league.
