Sometimes you pick up new music and you love it so much you wonder how you never knew it before... Uyama Hirotos second release, Freedom Of The Son, is my latest such experience. His first album from 2008 was packed with jazz hop and still has some of my favorite pieces on it (primarily Stratus and Walk In The Sunset), so when I heard he was finally coming out with another CD in late 2014 I was pretty ecstatic. Uyama-sans instrumentals in Soul of Freedom may take a backseat to Cise Starr and his smart lyrics, but the two complement each other nicely and the song delivers a steady beat with an easygoing vibe for an uplifting feeling.
