Somewhere Only We Know這觸動人心的抒情鋼琴歌曲， 讓一個鮮為人知的小樂團變成全世界銷售千萬專輯的英倫天團。 這首 Keane 的國歌是Hopes and Fears專輯的焦點 並幫助他們從像是Coldplay等英國眾多實力堅強的樂團中脫穎而出。 最早他們一開始是想以吉他彈唱製作此歌曲， 但最後還是決定用鋼琴為背景音樂， 所幸最後他們的決定是正確的， 這首歌帶給Keane異想不到的成功， 也讓他們日後被稱為沒有吉他的樂團 (the band with no guitars)! 主唱 Tom Chaplin 曾說: And if you have a minute, why dont we go / Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything / So why dont we go / Somewhere only we know? 通常都會有一首歌曲代表我所經歷的特別過程， 而當某日聽到這歌曲也會讓我想到許多以前的回憶。 Somewhere Only We Know這首歌曲旋律很優美、音樂很簡單， 但從他的第一個旋律、第一句歌詞就讓我很感動。 一首歌曲可以是歌詞很吸引人，也可以是旋律很優美， 但要綜合兩者卻不容易。 以前我聽外國的歌曲主要是先被他們歌曲的旋律先給吸引， 後來為了了解歌詞意義才去學英文(以前英文是狂被當的科目)。 歌詞讓我覺得表達了情人間相處的許多無奈。 往往雙方相處一陣子而分手那種感覺是很奇妙的， 我們曾有共同的旅程、共同的記憶。 當分開後回到一起走過的地方時，卻很難再拼湊出完整的回憶。 也許隨著年紀增長開始考慮到金錢、背景、事業、家庭， 那種單純的念頭可能很難再有，不論是情人或是朋友。 不過很高興的是...回到故鄉、回到母校或是見到大學的朋友， 至少那種相處的單純還是可以延續。
