Sooooo, got the kidney cancer out but was still sick this past year. Focusing on thyroid after kidney. MD Anderson said thyroid nodules were benign, no worries, very small, monitor annually. My gut and the way Ive felt this past year told me differently. Fever, brain fog, major fatigue, moody, body temperature roller coaster, etc. Thank God for Dr. Lisa David here in Lafayette. She removed my whole thyroid Monday. Confirmed papillary microcarcinoma on right lobe and isthmus; severe nodular Hashimotos on left. Thyroid was JACKED. Glad I didnt listen to MD Anderson and just monitor it annually. Lesson - trust your gut and listen to your body. Even as I recover from this surgery, I still feel better than I did this whole past year. All was caught early, all will be fine now. Can not thank my sweet Melody for playing nurse for the last 12 moths. Shes had it the toughest! Now no Adderall for 30 days until I do the radioactive iodine. God help her...MUAH!!!!!
