Sorry Black community, Michael Brown is not Rosa Parks. His, was not a stand against injustice. He did not peacefully resist a wrongful arrest. The more I hear the narrative on this case from black leadership, the sicker I get. If I was in the black community I would get new leaders. Leaders that offered solutions rather than spew hate; leaders that cared about lifting a community to become more self reliant, self policing, proud, and safe; leaders that inspired people to discover their talents and follow their dreams; leaders that condemned criminal behavior and never used threats and race as an excuse for violence; leaders that believed in the greatness of an America that is capable of change and a land of opportunity for all; leaders that would fight the problems that plague the poor black communities rather than enslaving the poor with more welfare, subsidized housing, and promoting a victim mentality; leaders that encouraged education, hard work, dignity, self worth, and personal responsibility. I can tell you, if my son committed these same crimes, demonstrated this aggressive attitude caught on video, assaulted a police officer, struggled for the officers gun, turned and came toward an officer who had a drawn weapon. refusing to stop or get on the ground, and ended up getting shot, I would mourn, I would cry, I would grieve, and I would even get angry. But I assure you I would not be asking for the officers life in exchange; I would not be asking my neighbors to burn the city down; I would not be inciting racial hatred; I would be using the event to call upon other young people to not follow my sons stupidity .. stay alive ... make a difference by doing good. The Brown family have a tremendous stage with the national spot light. Ferguson has become a household word. Black leadership have a chance to be heard and tell people like me about changes that need to be made. So far, I only see anger and hate with no personal responsibility. As if hanging Darren Wilson is going to help young black men from becoming bully criminals that assault cops when confronted. How can we help to fix that problem? If i hear a good answer to that question, then count me as part of the solution. If I continue to hear the call for the police officers head with looting, fires, and violence against hard working business owners, then we have an unruly mob that is in denial about the real issues, and I stand strongly opposed to their threats, methods, and intimidation.
