Sorry Sean Connery but Never Say Never Again is one of the worst Bond films ever. First off, it`s not an Ian Fleming 007 novel. It`s also terribly produced. It`s extremely silly on gadgets. This is the movie with the exploding pen. This was a Kevin McClory production. Kevin McClory collaborated with Ian Fleming on the plot of Thunderball. Fleming stupidly wrote the novel Thunderball with some of McClory`s ideas. This allowed McClory to sue Fleming for plagiarism. McClory has been a legal annoyance to all Bond fans & films for decades. He is the reason why QUANTUM was used as the organization in Quantum of Solace, not SPECTRE. McClory still owed some legal rights on Thunderball which prevented the producers of Quantum of Solace to make the enemy SPECTRE which is the true enemy in Ian Fleming`s Quantum of Solace novel. The reason that Casino Royale with Daniel Craig was utilized is due to the fact it was Fleming`s first Bond book thus out of reach to McClory`s meddling. It was written prior to Thunderball. Skyfall is the most recent example of the disconnect between Bond & the fans. Many people were confused why Bond wasn`t the Bond of old in many ways, as if the series took a major left turn. But the reason why it took a left turn was McClory still owned many rights on aspects of Bond lore. McClory recently died & the courts have ruled in favour of Barbara Broccoli, daughter of Albert Broccoli. Ian Fleming`s BOND IS BACK...FINALLY. Once again, sorry Sean but Kevin McClory`s Never Say Never Again sucked sucked & sucked more & more! Many people aren`t familiar with Bond lore & Ian Fleming the master. How deep it sometimes goes. The Live & Let Die novel was written in 1954 & surprisingly was the 2nd Bond book after Casino Royale, well before Paul McCartney & the Wings ever recorded the song. Many people believe that McCartney`s song influenced the name of the movie. Wrong!
