Sorry but this time I disagree with John Robson who says PMSH should resign because he used the terms dismissal & resignation to describe Nigel Wrights separation from the PMO. The usual process used with a senior official is to advise the official that he is being dismissed for cause but if he wishes to resign that he may do so. I saw several senior managers in this position and dont recall one not taking the resignation route. Interesting, members of the org described the separation as being fired or dumped never resigned. Simply put the resignation was the formal disposition but it was common knowledge that it was a no choice situation. I dont excuse the PM for using both terns but I do understand it happening in these stressful times. I do hope the PM has the moral strength of character to call Mr. Wright and apologize for the careless use of terminology. To suggest that this minor error is reason for the PM to resign is simply overkill. Canada is the envy of the World because of Harpers leadership & performance. Harper is our 50 goal scorer. Wed be nuts to force him out because he missed the net this time.
