Sorry this is a few hours late, but here is todays SP broadcast for January 5-the first SP show for 2015. 2015 marks 15 years of Sonic Pleasure on the air and yes I am still loving every minute of it! It was back to the regular format of psych & garage from the 60s to today. I started things out with Oasis. I played two more songs from Joe Cocker-one I played last week, but played again as a request. I played back to back versions of the Grateful Deads Shakedown Street and played four songs from David Bowie for his 68th birthday. Please tune in to my friend DJ SLTs annual tribute to Bowie this Friday January 9 from 12 midnight to 6 am. His show Across The Board is pretty awesome! During the second half, I played the ENTIRE 17 minute version of Iron Butterflys In A Gadda Da Vida (3 minutes does not do the song justice). As Reverend Lovejoy said in the Simpsons In The Garden Of Eden by I. Ron Butterfly. I played four songs from Elvis Presley because of January 8 being the 80th anniversary of his birth. I focused on the movie Elvis-Fun In Acapulco, Spinout, Clambake and his final film Change Of Habit-songs were Bossa Nova Baby, Spinout, Clambake and Rubberneckin. Two members of the Monkees had birthdays on December 30-Mike Nesmith who turned 72 and Davy Jones, who would have been 69. The four tracks were from The Birds The Bees And The Monkees. If you missed out on the fun, check it out on the archives! Log on to kfai.org/sonicpleasure and click on the listen now button next to the broadcast. The shows are kept for two weeks. Thank you for a great show tonight! 2015 will be a wonderful year for Sonic Pleasure! For 15 years no one experiences just pleasure, you experience Sonic Pleasure!
