South Australian animal health officers visiting properties in the Adelaide Hills are treating and destroying fire-affected livestock. It remains unclear just how many sheep, cattle, horses, alpacas and other stock have been lost in the Sampson Flat bushfire which burnt through 12,500 hectares. Wayne Mossop from Biosecurity SA said a lot of animals managed to escape the fire, but they still need to be closely inspected.
