South Central Railway Emerges the Champion at the All India Railway Ball Badminton Championship for Men-2014 South Central Railway clinched the All India Railway Ball Badminton Championship Trophy for Men-2014 today, ie. 28th November, 2014, at the Railway Sports Complex Grounds, Secunderabad. Southern Railway finished as the runners up while Western Railway, the present holder of the Trophy, secured the third place. Shri S.K. Agarwal, Addl. General Manager, SCR, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, gave away the Championship Trophy and medals to the successful players. Shri Agarwal, while addressing at the valedictory function, congratulated the SCR team members for winning the Trophy. Ball Badminton is becoming popular in the Country day by day. SCR aims at producing national / international players by promoting various games. SCR encourages various sports by offering job to fifty to sixty sports persons in a year, Shri Agarwal added. Shri Agarwal felicitated Shri Ram Babu, Ball Badminton Coach, (Chief Ticketing Inspector, Kacheguda Station) for his excellent contribution to Ball Badminton. Shri Ram Babu is due to retire from service in December, 2014. Shri Gajanan Mallya, President, SCR Sport Association, Shri K.V. Siva Prasad, General Secretary, SCRSA, Shri N. Srinivasa Raju, Secretary, (Ball Badminton), SCRSA, Shri M. Srinivasa Rao, Advisor, Ball Badminton Federation of India and other senior officials were present at the occasion.
