There has been a lot of debate this off-season on which RB is the best in the NFL. AP or McCoy? Well, i am going to go through every statistic worth noting over the last 3 seasons, and see which RB has the edge at the end. Note: Over these last 3 seasons, AP has started 43 games and McCoy has started 42 games. Rush TDs: AP=34 McCoy=28 Rush Yards: AP=4333 McCoy=3756 Yards per carry: AP=5.19 McCoy=4.77 Fumbles: AP=10 McCoy=6 Attempts: AP=835 McCoy=787 Running backs have more to do than just run the football. To be the better all-around player, you need to be able to catch the ball too. Receptions: AP=87 McCoy=154 Receiving yards: AP=527 McCoy=1227 Receiving TDs: AP=3 McCoy=8 As you can see, McCoy obliterates AP in the receiving game, but AP has the slight edge on the ground. The better runner in itself appears to be AP, but if youre looking for an all-around better player, you might want to choose McCoy. McCoy fits perfectly into the Eagles system, which is why he did so well this year after they changed into Chip Kellys style from Andy Reids. The player you would want on your team the most solely depends on the system you run. If you run a system similar to the Eagles, you want McCoy. If you run a system where you dont want your RBs to go out for passes, you want AP. -SteelCurtain
