Southern Luzon Cluster Planning Workshop – First Day The first day was graced by no less than Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Sonny Coloma. During the Secretary’s hour, he presented the challenge for PIA communicators and on how handling issues each one can contribute in the poverty reduction in the Philippines. He also presented the downtrend of poverty level in the country: 33% in 1991; 28% in 2008; and 25% in 2013 according to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). By 2015 the target is to reduce poverty to 16.5%. Original poverty reduction level target from 2013 to 2016 ranges from 18% to 20%... not much impossible… we only need to work on it hand in hand leading to one direction – unity, understanding, integrity are deemed needed!
