SpaceIL is an Israeli nonprofit aiming to make Israel the fourth nation to land on the Moon. In doing so, they are creating an Apollo effect. The mission can inspire future generations to get involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), just like the Apollo missions did in the 60s. SpaceIL is the one Israeli team in the Google Lunar X Prize, a competition sponsored by Google to land a spacecraft on the Moon, send HD photos and move it 500 meters across the lunar surface.
