*** Spectacular BEGINNER SAFER *** A volunteer writes: Wendy is a five year old gal who might not have known the most pampered life but is nonetheless quite welcoming of human presence. She has had her share of litters, her hinds are slightly twisted, her ears are nicked(an old story most likely), and an abscess can be seen around her right temple. Wendy is a cute character, relatively well nourished and wearing a lovely copper and golden dress. She owns gorgeous dark amber eyes. Wendy is quiet in her kennel but as soon as she sees someone in her area, she barks to get the attention and go out. She is likely house trained and goes as soon as we reached the street. She walks quite well on the leash and seems rather cool with other dogs met, even upclose in the yard. Wendy loves treats and although she follows me like a shadow to get more, she does not snatch them from my hand. She is curious of all the activities going on around her. It seems that Wendy has been around people all her life. She is a sociable girl, comes right away when called, all wiggly and tail wagging. She even comes on my lap and snuggles tightly against my chest. Wendy is not a manicured older girl, one that was deeply loved and carefully cared for like a family member. She seems to have known a rough journey until now and maybe the time has come to turn things around and give the opportunity to Wendy to know a stable and safe home and the unconditional love of a forever master. Wendy is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center. Another volunteer writes: Wendy reminds me of my Aunt Lotte......narrow in the hips, a sweet way of walking, a gentle, calm personality, and a heart of gold....Wendy was desperate to get my attention to go out for a walk and the moment we stepped outside she peed for what seemed like forever. I would certainly call that likely housetrained! Her leash manners are excellent and we had a lovely walk to the park, Wendy happy to be walking by my side on a nice summer morning. When a snarly Cocker Spaniel pulled towards her she showed no reaction, other than (if she could) a shrug of her shoulders to wonder what the fuss was all about. She seems to love other dogs, tail wagging appropriately at all we met. A cuddler supreme, Wendy drapes herself over my lap, giving me soft kisses as she snuggles close. She earned the BEST behavior rating possible... But that did not save her. Please share Wendy for a foster or adopter, before its too late. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=827441077268773&set=a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553&type=3&theater
