Spending the weekend alone. My mom is in the hospital. She has an infection in her leg as a result of having no immune system due to chemo and radiation to treat her breast cancer. She has been fighting breast cancer for the last 10 months after being diagnosed shortly before christmas. Because of her treatment, her immune system is compromised and as a result she is very susceptible to any infections. Please pray for a quick recovery for my mom. Its hard not having her at home. The animals are going nuts without her. They are constantly looking for her around the house. The cats are crying all night for her. She is hoping to be released by Sunday night but we are not sure. Depends on how well the antibiotics work to defeat the infection. On another note, working this weekend as long as no one screws with my hours. I am trying to get money to pay for gas for my car. Its hard on gas when you have to drive to the campus 6 days a week. And twice on fridays. School is going okay for me. Just working to pass all of my classes this semester so as to graduate next spring. I am so ready to get out of here. I am doing really well in Public Speaking. Just got grades back for the last two speeches and the last quiz. 50/50 for impromptu and 48/50 for the pet peeve speech and then 20/20 for the quiz. I have a speech due next week. Its a commemorative speech on someone famous. I was thinking of doing my speech on Lucy Lawless. She is an easy target to talk about and I believe I can talk about her as commemorating her work and life for the 4-6 minutes required for class.
