Spent 4 hours at the Ridgecrest Facility today. Its a learning - TopicsExpress

Spent 4 hours at the Ridgecrest Facility today. Its a learning curve for sure. Sounds like a horsewomans dream to be amongst 600 of Americas wild but its harder than you think to photograph & document so many. You think your going to remember THAT ONE but you dont so bring friends from every discipline. Then everyone sees someone in a different way. I learned binoculars are your friend for tag Ids. It takes 2 or more to photograph a village. One pen runs out of ink & one camera battery runs out of energy, take more. I didnt bring carrots because there are some real chubbos & I didnt want to cause a kicking frenzy but in each pen there was that one dang nice one who wasnt coming close unless I had a treat. ( Ill be back you little stinkers!) And no matter what your heart is set on, someone else just might pick you. I also learned you cant hold a baby, you must wait til they are weaned & branded. Which is probably for the best because do you know how many could fit in my trailer????? A lot! I learned what the SA brand looks like when they come in over 11yrs. old. Kinda wished I didnt. But Ill keep going back, its an addiction and I dont see an intervention any time soon.
