Spent time with Keith Paige McEachin, the powerful Paige sisters /family and The Lindenwood Reunion and Civic Leagu teams as they handed out turkeys today at Lindenwood Elementary school. A great example of a community that is taking strides to do for their community what no one else can do, and that is give it life, vitality and hope for a better tomorrow. Had a good coversation with the community Queen, Ms. Josephine McBride, 105 years old, about her life and my own. She was born in 1908 in Greenville, S. C. We held hands as we talked and laughed about the things she did before my father and mother were born. She worked a long time at Norfolk Community Hospital, once the only hospital for African Americans in Hampton Roads. Great time!
