Spent today at Barren County with Belinda Coyle and the Biomed - TopicsExpress

Spent today at Barren County with Belinda Coyle and the Biomed class bring awareness to Tetraplegics/Quadriplegic and Paraplegics and Spinal Cord education to a group of MaKaylas peers. It has long been MaKaylas goal to bring awareness and education to the general public about what these people have to go through and how life changes after facing SCIs. My daughter is a Tetraplegic/Quadriplegic, once the damage happens to the spine there is no known cure for SCI patients. Her signals have simply learned new ways to re-route. Even with the remarkable recovery she has been blessed to have she still has Tetraplegia and many of the affects just without the long term use of a wheelchair. She has had to relearn everything all over. We are 1year and 4 months out from MaKayla diving in our backyard pool and braking her neck at C5 leaving her completely paralyzed from the neck down. Although her case is rare she desires to bring awareness to the Walking Tetraplegic and the disablities they still deal with as they walk with there miracle, even miracle can be heavy to carry.
