Spent today up at Groton Pond. friends of mine from DC area, camp has been in the family for 101 years! * Jeffrey Levy !!! * Anyway, windy day, overcast, light drizzle on the way home, coming down through Buells Gore, a really really WINDING and narrow 2 lane stretch of mountain road, when I chanced upon a female moose in the uphill oncoming lane. I stopped the car, put on the flashers and watched her.. soon it became evident she was waiting for her 2 little ones to hop the guard rail on my side of the road! I clicked a few pics, sadly they are not great, shooting in a hurry, through a dirty windshield except for the portrait of mama. I am thrilled there was no car approaching in the oncoming lane... that could have been frightening for her and her babes at least, catastrophic at worst.. they can do some damage!
