Spiritual Exposition! David had to first look after sheep before becoming a King, Daniel had to first go in the Den of lions before he became a governor, Josef had to first become S a servant of potipher, before he became potiphers boss, Jacob had to first work for years, before he married his angel woman, Moses had to first look after sheep for fourty years, before he became a mighty General of the army of the Lord... I can go on and on and on citing examples, but the bottom line is that success first begins from learning humility. The way up starts from the bottom. Those who wish to become great must first learn to be humble. Those who wish to fill up positions of command should first learn to obey. Moses spent fourty years in the schools of Egypt trying to be a somebody, then God sent him to the bush for fourty years looking after sheep and made him a nobody, later on God took him and through him led the israelites in the wilderness for fourty years and showed him that God can use anybody in his business! The words are clear! humble yourself and the Lord will lift you up in due time. those who first wish to be up before they learn the lessons of humility should not complain when we become their judges and rulers.
