Spiritual Thought For Each Day by Mary Folsom Hayes Chynoweth December 26 Volume I Develop your inner life, so that you will be strong under all circumstances. When you are in this condition you are something to God, you have something of His love and wisdom within you, and He will give you the strength to perform every duty and to bear up under every circumstance that may come to you. You are fortified and know that God is within you a truth. Who but God can give you this strength? When you have this strength you will begin to be more and more glorious in your life, and heaven and all the blessings of God will be yours to enjoy. When the world comes upon this plane the great day that has been spoken of, the millennium, is here. May the day be not far distant when you shall know The Lord and work for this one, grand, spiritual life and overcome all that makes you suffer and fills you with condemnation. Then you will have the great principles of God which are love, wisdom and truth. Remember that the temptation is within, and if you hold that in check there is nothing outside of you that can ever tempt you to do any wrong. I ask you from this hour to learn more concerning your own higher nature through obedience to God until nothing can tempt you to evil; then the blessings of the Father will be showered upon you, you will be harmonious, God and the angels will surround you and you will have the peace, comfort, happiness and heaven that you desire. Volume II Listen to your best impressions. Be determined to grow and follow all the Christ principles until they are establish within you, and you will reap the blessing of a life like His. You will be equal to him and one with the Father. The Scriptures explain it clearly. He is the first born of many brethren, and all that are obedient to His teachings and follow his example will be heirs and joint heirs with Him and so become equal to Him. They do the deeds He did and come into the same inheritance. An intellectual belief in Christ is good but it will never save you from your weaknesses and imperfections. Only as you manifest your belief in actions and it grows into faith and the faith does the works is the Christ born in you. It is life that the world needs. They have had words and theories long enough. Men have preached Christ for hundreds of years and have never lived Him. This is why the world is in such weakness and darkness today. The desire of ones heart to be good and righteous and godly and to keep the mind above the things of earth and the carnel things in the nature, with a strong will against the wrong, will bring him into rapport with Gods life and will raise his whole nature into the spirit of truth where God can abide with him.
