Sri Vidya Payonidhi teertharu Sri Vyasaraja Maha samsthanam - History 1008 Sri Vidya payonidhi teertharu is the most known and famous Saints of the 21st century Among maadhwa samaja. Decending from the great lineage of parampara of Sri Hamsanamaka paramatma of Sri VyasarajaMutt, Gurugalu were really a great personality with the mixture of knowledge of strong Vedanta shastra and vairagya. They were called or known to be the Lion of the madhwa Samaja, ( Simha ) for their unique and flawless qualities in upholding Nyaya, dharma and dharma shastra vicharas and not compromising on any of the wrong thoughts or misdeeds. Vamsha : Sri Poornabodhachar ( Poorvashrama ), were a great decendant from the tekkalur Vamsha ( Same vamsha of sri Jagannatha teertharu , shishya of Sri sheshachandrika charyaru ), and moved to sosale under the ashraya of Sri Vidya prasanna Teertharu. Early Education : His holiness learnt proper veda patha at the school of veda shastra at Nanjangud ( Near mysore ) for a tenure of complete 14 years in their child hood. This gave them a complete hold and the knowledge over the Vedanta vicharas and dharmasookshmas. One other sahapathi is the Great Sri Vidya vachaspati teertharu who were crowned in the vedanta samrajya after Sri Payonidhigalu. Poorvashrama : Sri Vidya varidhi teertharu of Sri vyasaraja mutt gave guru upadesha to child prodigy Sri PoornaBhodhachar ( Poorvashara name of Sri payonidhigalu ) and Sri Jayateerthachar ( Sri vachasapatigalu ) at the time of their upanayam by making these children sit on their lap. Now we clearly know what is the meaning of that! They are virajaman on the same Crown on the vedanta samrajya even today! Sri poornabodhachar started to lead their life with the auspicious work nature of Pourohitya, and by never compromising on the prayogas which have to be made during various auspicious events like marriage, upanayanam etc. They would perform the Mantra prayogas by knowing the exact meaning in the Vedas so that people would get the exact phala what they are supposed to get. Although they had huge shishyas , they lived a very normal and an average life financially. They would never take any dakshina or any grocery items offered once the pourohitya is over and would come back to home. The objective here is that its the purohita dharma that purohits should only work towards the benefit of the Pura ( thus the word purohit one whos responsibility is to make sure hita or welfare of the pura or city is maintained without any self expectations ) This was a very unique and golden character of the sri gurugalu. Gurugalu were also very favorite for Sri Vidya prasanna teertharu of The great parampara. Sri Prasanna teertharu would never leave Sri poornabodha char to return when they would go to Sosale ( where Sri prasanna teertharu spent most the time ). They would make Sri Poornabhodhachar by spending more time in their great sannidhi, and discussing dharma vicharas. Accepting the throne of Vedanta Samrajya. Sri prasanna teertharu were renowned sreegalu in their time. They were well versed in Srimanyayasudha and Sri vyasatrayas. They had written throusands of Devaranamas, which would give the difficult shastra vicharas as simple summary so that normal people can understand, This kind of capability is only possible for aparokshagnanis! They even knew that who would take peetha next and had given a hint in a song saying, jaya jaya vaishnava PAYONIDHI chandrage in one of their songs. This shows how much anugraha Sri prasanna teertharu had made on Sri Vidya Payonidhi teertharu. Bad health aquired Sri prasanna teertharu and , Gurugalu made a decision its the time to pass on the legendary and historic parampara to the next yatigalu. They had to look for a person who has 1. Sri mutt Deeksha 2. Administrative skills 3. Person who knows vedanta and shastra 4. Who has a solid and uncompromising character towards dharma 5. Who can help people get Bhagavadanugraha! There were no matches for Sri poornabhodhachar in the eyes of Sri Vidya Prasanna teertharu and they knew that the name of this great paramapara would go to its peak in this century in their hand. They did a complete anugraha and gave turyasharama at sri ranga patnam and Named them as Sri Vidya Payonidhi Teertharu Sri prasanna Teertharu lived only for 11 days after giving the Ashrama but in these 11 days the kind of seva Sri payanodhigalu did to their gurugalu is Just tremondous and its a path for every shishya on how to give respect to their gurugalu. Sri prasanna teertharu were bed ridden. Everyday Sri payonidhigalu would finish their ahnika and othe duties and sit near Gurugalus feat and do parayana of great Granthas , vedas and bhagavata sholkas, without looking the face but by only looking at the feat of Sri Vidya Prasanna Teertharu. On the very first day when sir payonidhigalu did the samsthana pooja, at the end of the pooja eyes of Sri prasanna teertharu were wet and they shouted saying Krishna! , When sri payonidhigalu asked what happened , Sri prasanna teertharu said , Do i need to teach swimming to fish? Nimage bhagavantana sampoorna anugrahavide. Sri prasanna teertharu were extremely happy! Once the Sri Prasanna Teertharu travelled to hariloka they performed the next actions without a negligence even for a second, and in every pravachana and every meet they would not utter a word without telling the charama shloka of Sri prasanna teertharu. The peak! Many people even now remember the time of Sri payonidhiteertharu to be of the greatest only next to Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhoumaru. The number of shishyas , the Branches of the mutts , the amount of constructions made , kind of help made for numerous people has no count but only the people who even remember them as Sri vyasarajaru today can only tell!! As soon as they became Peetadhipatigalu the major challenge was the administration as at that time Government had made a new law saying person who works the field, field belongs to them , because of which mutt had lost huge amount of lands. Gurugalu started sanchara rigourously and started doing dharma prachara and spreading vedanta among all sathiwaka samaja over the next 28 years. They would make sure people who come to them get the exact taratamya gnana on the vitue of only which people can attain Sri hari anugraha. Gurugalu would never compromise or give up any misdeed or wrong statements and would do khandana on the spot and make sure that person learn properly so that he would not make the same mistake again. The great pundits of various expertise in Sri Sarvamoola, Srimanyayasudha, Sri vyasatraya, Sri parimala took aashraya under the the Senior most and Jyestha parampara of Madhwa Samaja under the able guidance of Sri payonidhi teertharu. Few pundits were Sri Magadi Ranganatha Charyaru ( Pandita Raja ) , Dr. BNK Sharma, Dr, T.K Venugopaladasaru and numerous and 100s of great pundits. Gurugalu made sure that anyone who comes to any branch of the mutt, whether any seva has been made or not, no one would go back empty stomach from the premises of the mutt. In Gandhibazar mutt even when there is no seva atleast few people would take teertha prasada everyday. These few people are the purohits, Ladies who lost their husbands , aged people and few other mutt shishyas. Anugraha! There are few instances where Sri payanodhigalu have made anugraha on lot of people, few instances are as given below. 1. Where sri gurugalu were travelling , one of the trucks in front of mutt car, was about to topple where driver could have died. Gurugalu just said Sri krishna will protect. Like a magic in 2 minutes the truck came to control and driver got down the truck completely sweating. When asked upon what happened, he said he was about to die that is when he felt like 2 huge hands came to his truck and held the truck so that it didnt topple!! We dont know which hands were those! Gurugalu told driver Nothing bad can happen in front of Sri GopalaKrishna and not to worry 2. 100 s of people got their children after the tottilu seva made in sri mutt and Mantra enchanted Kayi ( Coconut ) were given. Famous actor rajnikant had once come when he did not have any children. Gurugalu gave him prasad saying he will have 2 girls but not boy child. We know how many daughters Rajnikant has today! 3. punar Pratishta of parampara gurugalu at trimakoota. After the punar pratishta of mahan gurugalu at trimakoota, the purohit who took care of ceremony had a dream same night of tall and black sanyasins ( the same number of sanyasins as we have in trimakoota ) coming and saying Sri payonidhigalu have bought us to a great place for our tapas and dhyana, we are happy! 4. Once in a pooja when sri payonidhigalu were about to do prokshana of Shankodaka for naivedya, they were chanting dwadhasha stotra for more time ( like an hour ) which was unusual and more than what they would do regularly. When shishyas asked why, gurugalu did not tell anything and everybody had lunch that day. But after lunch one guy came screaming out of kitchen saying a poisonous lizard has fallen in the vessels. People did not have any effect or nobody died, Gurugalu saved everyone through the Dwadasha Stotra. 5. Lot of people got married when they were struggling, with gurugalus anugraha. 6. Gurugalu were known as Mantrada swamigalu in chennai because of their miracles. 7. Construction of huge buliding at Trimakoota. Tirumakudlu is a river bank and when Srigurugalu asked the engineers to give a plan, they rejected saying its not possible since the land will not be good for construction. Sri gurugalu with their will have constructed a huge building called chandrika gurukula with their great will and shakti! 8. They bought out a regular digest called Tatva chandrika which would give dharma vicharas through great pundits. 9. Started vridhashram for the old people in various branches of mutt. 10. Started scholarship programs for lot of poor people, even today lot of people in great positions today remember them as Swaroopodharakaru. 11. Gurugalu tried for atmost understading among all the madhwa mutts and made sure that the level of co-operation would increase among all the mutts for the benefit of the society. In 1996 a historical event called Amrita mahotsava where Gurugalu invited all the peetadhipatis of madhwa samaja ( almost 10 – 11 yatigalu ) were on a single stage. 12. Construction of more than 20 huge mutt buildings ( Huge onese! ) in a very small time of 28 years It would take an year for us to build a small house! 13. After 6 months of brindavan pratishta During kalakarshana when the main brindavan had to be installed The holy and devine eternal body of Sri Payonidhigalu was looking like a shaligrama shile and it had turned exactly towards Sri Raghunatha teertharu as taking patha from gurugalu! This document will not be enough to tell about sri payonidhigalu, but people who have experienced their glory will know it and they are the lucky ones! As Sri vyasaraja gurusarvabhoumaru did re pratishta of madhwa siddanta , Sri payonidhigalu did repratishtha of the great glory of sri mutt. Finally when they knew that its time to move for the studies under sri sheshachandricharyaru, They gave sanyasa to Sri jayateerthachar who were famous and great Bhagavata pundit and attained Hari pada. It was a very Vibrant and a historic life that Sri Payonidhi Teertharu led as the adhipati of Vedanta samrajya of Sri madananda teertharu, its recognized a golden era among Madhwa samaja! Essence of the way our gurugalu lead their life, which lays a path for the way we should lead our life - 1. Never Leave dharma. 2. Shastra vidya is for Paraloka sadhana not for ihaloka , so don’t lie for money! 3. Respect the elders 4. Do the seva of god by yourself as much as possible , don’t by pass with laziness. 5. Do bhakti with proper taratamya, only with which you will get result. 6. Encourage dana dharma 7. Help the elderly people 8. Help the person who is need of money, health, food or shelter!
