Srimad Gita Chapter 2 Samkya Yoga Or the Yoga of Knowledge (continued) ”All functions served by a small well can at once be served by a huge reservoir of water; for the scholar who has obtained enlightenment so is the same with all of the Vedas. “ Just as one who gets water from the river does not attach importance to a well, so the wise do not attach any importance to rituals, for those of illumined consciousness, ritual observances are of little value. The purpose is to demonstrate that he, who achieves the depth of supreme bliss in the form of God, does not rely for his delight and fulfilment on objects of enjoyment achieved by way of compensation for the performance of rituals suggested in the Vedas. Therefore in order to get contentment for all times to come one should completely discard all craving and affection for worldly enjoyments obtainable as rewards of Vedic practices and one should pursue only that portion of the Vedas to perform activities that are most pleasing to Lord Krishna which is in the best interests of all beings. .
