St. Maarten detains club manager in bribery probe PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (AP) A strip club manager in St. Maarten has been detained in a bribery investigation that allegedly involves the leader of the main opposition party. In a Tuesday statement, prosecutors only identified the suspect by his initials, J.v.d.H. But authorities later said he is Jaap van den Heuvel, manager of the Bada Bing strip club. Earlier this year, a video showed independent lawmaker Patrick Illidge seeming to accept stacks of money from Van den Heuvel. Authorities announced then that they were investigating allegations that opposition leader Theo Heyliger sought to blackmail Illidge to break the governing coalition. Van den Heuvel was arrested Monday on suspicion of money laundering, tax fraud and forgery. He has not been charged. Public Prosecutor Hans Wesselink said he was being questioned and held in a lockup.
