Started my quilty time today trying to finish up block 6 of the Village-Salt Box. Got all my sections done yesterday so this morning I seamed them all together. Added the background blocks at the top and it was finished. Serged around it so it wouldn’t fray as I worked on the lone bird in the sky. Instructs call for ribbon embroidery, but I’m satin stitching the birds ‘cause the sample I tried with the ribbon looked kind of wonky. So block 6 is done!! Expecting two BOMs in the mail today (and yup, they both came; ugh), so decided to work a little on A-Z for Ewe & Me, that is all over my sewing table. Got the bias vines stitched and ironed for the borders later, and all the applique parts cut out for the top and bottom border which is this month. Before I can do those, I needed to put sashing around the entire quilt, so lots of measuring and pinning and finally I got the black sashings done. Ran out of time ‘cause I spent too many trips to the backyard today with puppy Porter. I unearthed a new doggie toy that I had gotten for Zo ages ago. It’s a Kong squeaky bowling pin shape with the tennis ball covering. OMG did Porter ever love it. I kept hiding it when we’d come in and she’d find it and stand there and let me know she knew where it was…..so out we’d go again after a little wait. She had a ton of fun today…
