Starting the day together: When I started as an associate pastor - TopicsExpress

Starting the day together: When I started as an associate pastor many years ago, I didnt have the responsibility of the youth group. After a few months, the pastor asked me if I would share that ministry with the lay couple who had been leading youth. The group was growing and needed to be split between middle school and high school groups. At first I declined. (I had already seen two youth leaders, who were in seminary, fired.) But, that pesky Holy Spirit wouldnt leave me alone; so, I reluctantly accepted leadership of the high school youth. When I left that church years later, the youth had become the strongest and most cherished aspect of my ministry. What an unexpected blessing that I still carry with me today! As a result of that experience, I remain more open to opportunities that may seem overwhelming or even undesirable, but are actually unexpected blessings waiting to be discovered. devotional.upperroom.org/devotionals/2014-12-27?999&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheUpperRoomdailydevotional+%28The+Upper+Room+daily+devotional+%29
