State Government has Ban on Burning of Agriculture wastes, Dry Leaves, Paper, Plastic, Garbage etc. Benefits. Burning of agriculture wastes ( old dry stems of rice, maize etc. after harvesting of crop), dry leaves, paper etc. is environmentally unsound activity as all this leads to air pollution and adds to global warming there are other adverse effects which are described as follows: 1. Burning of agriculture wastes, dry leaves, paper etc. is not good for the environment as it produces gases such as carbon di oxide which escape into the atmosphere. Such gases remain hanging a few hundreds of feet above the earths surface for a long time and trap the heat of the sun making the earth hot. Heating of the earth leads to less rainfall and drying of crops adversely affecting agriculture production.if we dont burn dry leaves, paper etc. then these gases are not trapped in the upper part of the atmosphere and the suns rays are reflected back and so does not lead lead to heating of the earth. 2. When we burn dry leaves, paper, agriculture wastes etc. in our agriculture fields or in other open areas then the smoke produced contains many gases which cause pollution of the air that we breath. Pollution of the air by smoke leads to breathing problem and for people who have diseases like asthma, cold and cough smoke will make the disease worse. 3. Another advantage of ban on burning of leaves, agriculture wastes etc. is that these leaves, agriculture wastes etc. will remain in the soil and add organic manure to it if it is left there to decay. This means that the soil will become more fertile and give good harvest in the future.
