Statement for Immediate Release 26th September 2013 Project KPH announces break from activities The Project KPH Charitable Trust has decided to have a break from its activities after Trustee and Founder Leah Evans announced her resignation from her six-year voluntary administrative role. KPH Trustees say the decision to break from activities comes after consideration to what it will mean for the charity to lose its main volunteer. “It is remarkably difficult to find people like Mrs Evans, with boundless enthusiasm and passion for something that serves her no personal purpose other than to see others succeed. It is even more remarkable to find a person who volunteers not only energy and love, but professional input long-term.” says Trustee Kate Gillam. Mrs Gillam says that Leah’s decision was not made lightly. “We are right on our sixth anniversary of operations and Project KPH has been such a huge part of particularly Leah’s life. For six years she’s poured her everything into making sure over a hundred kids nationwide have lived their dream, and has created some special relationships not only between herself and the families, but between the kids, their families, and everyone who has worked with us, from sponsors to volunteers to the Facebook followers,” “The trust plans to take an extended break and reflect on what has been achieved, and maybe in a while when we can gain the extra support we need to really get this worthwhile work humming, we’ll wind it back up again” says Kate. Kate explains that Leah’s resignation is for personal reasons, and that she intends to return to a voluntary role with the charity in the future. “We’ll let this fantastic small-but-effective charity have a rest for now, and do so with the deepest gratitude to Leah, and all our sponsors and supporters who have been part of the KPH story so far. Quite simply we could not have achieved what we did without all the support we have had through thoroughly appreciated loyal partners, who have helped create real dreams for real Kiwi kids. It’s been an amazing journey” says Kate. Project KPH has helped over one hundred Kiwi kids nationwide achieve their dreams, with all administrative work provided on a voluntary basis. - Ends - For further information contact: Kate Gillam 029 688 4141
