Stay safe near water is a message we are having to put out again after a 17 year old boy was rescued from the River Nith in Dumfries on Friday. The boy was checked out at DGRI and is OK, although shocked. In this hot weather it might be tempting to go into our rivers and lochs, but they are full of dangers. Underwater currents, debris and cold water are all dangerous to swimmers. Parents are asked to speak to their children about these dangers. Stay safe this summer.
