Steven Seagal is one of those odd characters that I always WANTED to like but could never convince myself to do so, and I could never understand why, until it became apparent that I was judging him from his movie persona. Now, this is kind of strange because Ive always admired all the historically famous tough-guys, Wyatt Earp, Jim Bowie, William Wallace, etc. and Seagal IS a real-life tough-guy. I realize now that when a tough-guy PLAYS a tough-guy, its easy for him to come off as nothing more than a bully. Perhaps this comes from being the real thing and trying to interpret what it is the audience expects. Whatever.
