Still on my journey to read the entire bible word for word in my - TopicsExpress

Still on my journey to read the entire bible word for word in my quiet time on Friday night I was given a revelation: It would be ludicrous for us not to judge. If we dont judge then we have no standard for what is right or wrong and if we are Christians then these standards or judgements are predetermined for us. In fact if we dont judge then whats the point of being Christian. I think the importance is not to condemn which is totally different than saying something is right or wrong. Once again if saying something is wrong in and of itself is wrong then there is no room for belief in the bible. Merriam websters dictionary defines judging as the following: to form an opinion about through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises Many people quote the Judge not lest you be judged all too quickly without saying the rest of the verse. What the entire scripture say is the following: Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye. I say all of this to say the interpretation should not be that judging is wrong but that it is wrong if you yourself of guilty of practicing sin (intentionally sinning without repentance and admittance of it). If we dont judge then the our lights wont shine. The moral standards will continue to get lower and lower of our society. The premise should be that when you judge you should do it with compassion and while working on yourself. After-all we will all be judged whether we like it or not...So saying Judge not lest ye be judged is an argument of ignorance. If we dont hold one another accountable then we will continue to fall into sin. Even the bible says only a fool despises reproach. When you mature you appreciate when people correct you because you realize it makes you a better person. Also know that you cannot hold people accountable who do not hold themselves to the bible. They will not receive it 2 Timothy 2:23 says just this. They are to be won by our actions not our words. One of the hardest things to do for me is to hear someone misquote scripture and then defend their actions with the word but we are not called to argue. If people ask give them an answer and reference the bible. Their argument is with God not with you. If pleasing God and living for Jesus was easy everyone would choose to do it but its not#called#Isaidyes#thankyouJesusforshowingmethis#Jesusutterednotaword#powerinsilence#letitburn
