Still on the issue of Rosé Tinted Rags, last night Id just consumed my seventeenth can of ale whilst nibbling on a family bucket of Pork Scratchings when I had one of those brilliant moments of clarity. You know the sort of moments. We can all experience them when our eyes are spinning like cherries on a one armed bandit. I suddenly thought, funny. Odd. The Council have just given this little place of sanctuary to the weak and the vulnerable eight weeks notice to clear off to make way for this unholy bloody road. And before my wife said, I hate your face, get off the floor and get into bed, this moment of clarity hit me. I said, Ive just had a moment of bloody clarity. Rockfield Road Car Park! And thats it. Rockfield Road Car Park. Only sixty yards away from the Tann Brook Centre. The Council, who I know for certain regret the haste they used to destroy the DIY business, are actually repeating their mistake a stones throw away from the car park that now represents a monument to the stupid and dull amongst us. Surely, given the six million pound acquisition of the car park, and it is a lovely car park, youd be a fool to argue otherwise, why, given the benefit of hindsight would you repeat a mistake and insist that RTR clear off out of the building within eight weeks. Its madness isnt it and if this Council do not give ground on this single issue then itll open up a can of worms and bring Rockfield Car Oark into the argument. I know for certain that the Council would not want Rockfield Road car park ever mentioned again in any public meeting or in any display of public objection. I say, theyd be wise to shift their ground and give this little business the time they need to find suitable premises and not insist they clear off within eight weeks.
