Still waiting on those quiches. Tired. Want to sleep. Will do soon. Got to stay awake. Will do. Thinking now about my friend Daniel who comes to the bonfires in the backyard. Daniel is lawyer. He likes to talk. He told me once that Id make a good lawyer. He knows my potential career as a lawyer was side-stepped at West Virginia University where I was elected to the Ethics Committee. I asked Daniel why he, a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Law, thinks I would have been a good lawyer. He shocked me, kind of. He said, Kay, you have killer instincts. I can see you as a litigation attorney. Well, I understand why Daniel said that now. But a lawyer was never a career I wanted. I just wanted a profession. Since then Ive enjoyed several professions. But I think to be a good litigator, a person really does have to want to be one. Its a very aggressive legal track. It requires consummate self-control and an instinct for thinking on your feet. I have both consummate self-control and an instinct for thinking on my feet. But I have no love for the legal profession. That said, I have made many smart moves of a legal nature, to the benefit of many people, most of all to my own benefit.
