Story of The Wendorff Family And their medical situation https://wepay/donations/team-wendorff Anyone that can help are urged to, this family desperately needs everyone to come together and support them. They are under a tremendous burden and are doing without a lot to make these needed trips to the Medical Facility here in Augusta, GA. There Holiday’s will be less as usual because of these illnesses. If you can find it in your heart to donate, Please go to their We Pay Account given above and give and if possible give generously that these children will have a nice Christmas. Thank you!!! Information Welcome to our WEPAY page. We are glad you found us but sad we need you! We have 4 children 3 boys and one little girl. Our boys suffer from a rare neurological disorder called chiari malformation of the brain. 2 of them have had surgery and 1 of them is non symptomatic at this time. Our 8 yr old son Brayden also suffers from a few other neuro issues and is much sick than the other 2 boys. In 2010 he suffered from a stroke caused by MoyaMoya disease. Since 2009 he has had a total of 5 brain surgeries, numerous procedures, MRIS, CT Scans, etc. Our NS and Neurologist are both located 5 hrs from our home. We travel to Augusta Ga due to the complexity of our children’s cases. We have been traveling since November and have seen such a difference in our boys. 2 weeks ago our son Brayden came down with a very bad headache and was hospitalized at our local children’s hospital. After 5 days of being there they transferred him to Augusta Ga to be with his specialists. They have him on very high doses of pain medication and nothing is helping the pain. He has not left his bed in 15 days and is just not doing well all around He is also having some endocrinology issues that they have discovered while he has been here in Ga. Today 3/20 he had a spinal tap and has been discovered to have high spinal fluid pressure. We have no idea when we will be released to go home from the hospital at this time and funds are running very low. These trips are very costly on our family. My husband is a deputy sheriff for the county that we live in and I am unable to work due to the children’s health. We have made over 8 trips here to Augusta since November. This trip right now was much unexpected. We need financial assistance to be able to continue the care here in Ga. We do have health insurance and most medical bills are paid. It’s the travel cost that we need assistance with. Food, Hotel/Ronald McDonald House, Gas, bills at home, and also making sure that things at home with our other children run smoothly and that they have money for food and necessities while we are gone. Would you please consider a donation no matter how small or big to help us continue this amazing care we are receiving for our boys especially Brayden? Attached is a video that was made for our family by an amazing friend and it tells a lot of our story. Please take a second to watch if you can and also please share this page if you feel compelled to. Also, if you would like to keep updated on our family please like our FB page called Team Wendorff. *****update Nov 2013. ****** Since this page was created Brayden has been diagnosed with pseudo tumor cerebral and has had a VP shunt placed by our amazing NS in Augusta, Ga Dr. Ian Heger. Brayden had severe complications and has had to have several revisions to the peritoneal cavity due to his ehlers danlos syndrome. We have made several trips back and forth to Ga., and had several at home in patient stays here in Florida. Brayden is currently under the care of numerous sub specialties and requires back and forth travel at least every 3 months to Ga. Also back in Sept. I, (mommy) was diagnosed with chiari and pseudo tumor cerebral and I am currently scheduled for shunt surgery on Dec 3rd 2013. Please like our fb page Team Wendorff to keep current on all things going on in the medical world of our family Thank you so much for taking time to read this and for visiting our page. Dan, Amanda, Skyler, Brayden, Zachary, and Kami Wendorff
