Straw Tuesday #30 Giving Tuesday (December 2nd) WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY? We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity. givingtuesday.org Straw demonstrated generosity in ways beyond words. She gave of her heart fully. She gave of her wisdom to anyone willing to learn. She did not waste time or effort on those who were close minded or unwilling. She was in your face if you were there to learn but stubborn about how much to stretch. Somehow Straw always knew exactly when to push and shove you into acceptance, understanding, out of your comfort zone, and lead you to your own aha moment --- yet she also knew when her wisdom was falling on deaf ears. She taught us an important fact about helping others. One has to really want to change in order to be helped or to make a lasting change. You cannot force someone to grow or see the light - eventually they will be in enough pain or have struggled long and hard enough to be ready. Until that comes, its like trying to bend steel with your hands, and only Superman can do that. Spring Reins of Life is a public charity nonprofit (501c3) and all donations are tax deductible. We are a volunteer run organization allowing a majority of our funding dollars to go towards programming.
