Stroke week Strokefoundation National Stroke Week Unite to Stop Stroke this National Stroke Week, 9-15 September 2013. Stroke affects everyone and we can all take action against it. Your support will raise the awareness of stroke within the community and encourage all Australians to take action to prevent stroke. Stroke Week packs contain simple and engaging ideas to assist you in organising a stroke awareness activity during National Stroke Week. Get started: Order a National Stroke Week pack Pick a date – hold an activity anytime around 9-15 September. Decide on the type of activity you want to run (suggestions below and inside pack) Set the scene. Lock in a location, e.g. secure facilities or book a meeting room Spread the word. Decide who to invite and let them know. List your activity details online. Activity Ideas: Raise awareness of the FAST (warning signs of stroke) message Promote 6 steps you can take to reduce your stroke risk Invite a StrokeSafe speaker to your organisation, community, sporting or social group Spread the word with social media Hold a ‘Know Your Numbers’ health checking station Sign up to Fight Stroke Hold a Do it 4 Stroke fundraiser We have had a great response to National Stroke Week this year and have now run out of information and resources packs. We still have A2 and A3 Posters and Stroke Facts/FAST flyers (pad of 50) available.
