Student Webliography #mgartr13 section 90. Ill take a position on this even without reading it that closely (yet) - the fact is that our online privacy is DEAD. Theres isnt any privacy any longer - and maybe it died a while back (not sure when). However, while were more and more open books to whom ever wants to see what is under the cover, the standards for what is considered private and not, hasnt changed. So, in effect, while were all more or less exposed to whatever happens to show up in our feeds about us, the law, employers, the government, the CIA, NSA, foreign governments, city and state governments, IRS, etc - all consider all consider what they find on Social Networks the same as if we said it in person or said it an email - even though those actions are usually more deliberate. So Ill posit the real problem here isnt the death of Privacy (which is unavoidable) but the fact that the information found on social media can be taken as an admission of defacto personal sentiment, beliefs and actions - and treated as such. And thats an adjustment society as a whole, along with our legal and governmental systems needs to make - because our privacy already is dead for anyone who really wants to know about us.
