Students from the Mater Dei School Nativity Center in Sioux City, - TopicsExpress

Students from the Mater Dei School Nativity Center in Sioux City, Iowa, held a school-wide service project this fall. Every student, from preschool through eighth grade, participated in collecting items for care packages for Veterans at the Tomah VA Medical Center. Teachers from the school made the trip north to the Tomah VA to present the care packages to the medical center director and also distribute them to Veterans in long term care. Students collected items for a care package for Veteran at the Tomah VA, that included lotion, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, socks, stamped-and-ready-to-send greeting cards, and a personal letter from the older students. Decorating each care package was a piece of artwork created by the younger students. Two teachers, Rebecca Wolf and Jessica Van Holland, delivered some of the care packages on Oct. 10, reading the letters to the Veterans. Thank you Mater Dei!!
