Studio Ghiblis adaption of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, called - TopicsExpress

Studio Ghiblis adaption of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, called The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, is here! Made by Isao Takahata (the genius behind Grave of the Fireflies and co-founder of the studio together with Hayao Miyazaki) the movie is almost entirely made by hand and uses water colors and calligraphy. The tale is the oldest long story in Japan, dating from the 10th century. Simply beautiful. Cant wait to see it (especially since it has been 14 years since the quite reclusive Isao Takahata made a movie).
