Stuff I Liked in 2014: Top 5 Movies I love movies....like....alot. I treat movie theaters like people treat church sanctuaries and libraries. 1: Grand Budapest Hotel- Director Wes Anderson made me feel like I was taken away to a fairytale world of pre WW2 Europe. This movie feels like a classic throwback, but its all new at the same time. 2: Interstellar: I couldnt talk for an hour after this movie. Is it big and huge and containing plot holes and flaws? Yes, but you will never find a more ambitious film about the human race and its indomitable spirit. Bonus: Best musical score EVER! 3: Guardians of the Galaxy - Summer movie making at its undeniable best. Funny, action packed, and full of a bunch of people clearly enjoying the heck out of the film they are making. 4: The Tale of Princess Kaguya - Hand animated from Studio Ghibli [Spirited Away and Ponyo] this film draws you in with subtle strokes of the animators brush and the writers folktale pen. I have never seen anything like this movie. That is my highest praise for a film. 5: Edge of Tomorrow - The best Tom Cruise movie in a decade. Great story. Great effects. Great everything. Another amazing summer movie in a pretty sparse summer. Honorable Mentions: X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America:Winter Soldier, Birdman, Gone Girl, The Lego Movie, The Double [Made me less scared about Jesse Eisenbergh playing Lex Luthor.]. Havent Seen YET: Inherent Vice, Nightcrawler, Selma, Force Majeur, Whiplash, Boyhood, The Immigrant, Only Lovers Left Alive. Many more, I have not been to the movies as much this year. :( Movie I Disliked the Most: Maleficent- Character arcs and story structure all over the place. Felt like a really bad fan fiction turning Maleficent into a Mary Sue [all knowing, all good, all powerful character that is the authors or audiences avatar]
