Subang Avenue is a dead mall despite its good location in Subang - TopicsExpress

Subang Avenue is a dead mall despite its good location in Subang Jaya. This integrated development boasts of apartment blocks and is in a very matured township with a vibrant community. Aeon Big (formerly Carrefour) is just next door and Subang Parade is a mere 2 minutes walk away. How is it that this mall which is about 10 years old is practically empty? There are only a handful of outlets including a big Chinese restaurant which is closed for so-called renovation. When I visited it on Sunday on a public holiday, the less than 5 retail outlets were closed except for a computer games shop. All the escalators were not moving and the air-cond is at a very low degree to save electricity. The parking lot is quite dark and old looking. There were only a few fluorescent lights in the free darkened car park. Heres again an up-date on some of the shopping centers: (Note: Some malls may appear to be half dead and very quiet but so long as the retail outlets are mostly or fully occupied it cannot be regarded as half dead).
