Sunday 16.03.14 SMITH BRINGS IN INVESTORS Some 70-80 investors accompanied by expert marine biologists, divers, historians and local officials from the provincial government departed Alotau after lunch today for the Conflict Group of Islands. They are here from all over the world upon the invite of the islands title holder and UK-based entrepreneur Ian Gowrie-Smith. They flew in today on a flight from Cairns, Australia and were welcomed at Education Milne Bay by Governor Titus Philemon. Smith says he will not sell islands and the delegation was purely here to assist in promoting and preserving the biodiversity of the area via eco-friendly ventures. Governor Philemon urged the visitors in their capacity to also spread the word about MBPs tourism prospects to generate interest and a positive responses. They departed at 2pm aboard the MV Oceanic Discoverer and will spend six days out on the islands before they each return to their place of origin.
