Sunday 16 June 2013 2Ti 1:7 For God did not give a spirit of cowardice to us, but of power and of love and of self-control. The old KJV says a spirit of fear. Reana Nell sings it so beautiful: Fear does not come from the Lord. (Vrees kom nie van die Here af nie). It amazes me that churches through all the ages abused the fear factor to retain souls for the congregation. The Roma Catholic church literally burned people on the stake by the millions. The traditional church until today took over the idea of the hell from the Roman Church for the promotion of their membership. Devils and demons that are stripped of their authority receive new authority by the value that people give to them. Even the law that was in enmity against us with its ordinances and no longer need to be feared, is held by the churches to keep the people in the right ways by fear. It is easier to instill fear in the people than to motivate them to recognize and use the power that lives in them. It is easier to manipulate people with fear than to inspire people with love for a life in communion with the Father. We received a spirit of self-control, not a spirit of submission to manipulation. No church or pastor or reverend or prophet or any other ministry has the right to manipulate anybody by fear to serve the Lord. You received the power to walk in the spirit. You are in a love-relation with the Father and nothing on this earth can separate you from that.
