Sunday 9th February – Bangor fire update. CFS observation aircraft are currently flying the fire ground gathering overnight information on fire behaviour and area burnt. There are around 130 fire-fighting personnel on the ground with 100 CFS and 30 DEWNR and Forestry SA. Overnight 6 patients from the Laura Hospital were relocated to Crystal Brook Hospital. The fire is still burning out of control near Beetaloo and Wirrabara near Mills Road, Youngs Road, Palmer Road, Beetaloo Valley Road, Galdstone - Beetaloo Road, Rucioch Road, Wurst Road, Hilpara Track, Kleinig Road, Lynches Road, Charcoal Road, Marner Road, Forest Road and Wirrabara Detour Roads. The BANGOR fire is travelling in a easterly and north easterly direction direction towards the settlement of Beetaloo, Beetaloo Valley, Laura, Stone Hutt, Wirrabara Township and Wirrabara Forest. There is a risk to lives and homes. The fire is burning in thick scrub.
