Sunday, August 18 Nehemiah 12:27-36, 38, 43 CELEBRATING THE COMPLETED TASK At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with music of cymbals, harps and lyres. Nehemiah 12:27, NIV After Nehemiah completed the re-building of the broken wall, he orchestrated a giant celebration, which featured two choirs that circled the wall in opposite directions. So great was their joy, so warm the love in their hearts that, as they all sang together, people across the hills and valleys stopped to listen. This dedication was made to God by prayer and songs of praise and no doubt by sacrifices. It was a solemn thanksgiving to God for His great mercy to them. When the Lord allows you to accomplish a task like finishing your education at whatever level, completing a housing project, purchasing a car, or having any remarkable progress; it is proper for you to celebrate Him. Though it may not be with pomp and pageantry but in whatever way, express your gratitude to the Lord who has made it possible for you to record that success. Prayer Point: Pray for a fresh anointing for the Director of Youth and Student Ministries, family and staff RBT Passage: Ps. 70-73; Rom. 13
