Sunday Preview June 1, 2014 Sermon Series: “Jesus: Myth, Madman, or Messiah” Sermon Title: “Defining Moments” Scripture: Matthew 16:13-17. (NIV) Hi folks, I am not a big fan of television commercials. Their creators seem to believe that the more irritating the “clip” the more viewers will remember the product. And that may be so. One current drink-mix commercial is about two co-workers that discuss how the ability to choose the amount of drink-mix they add to water has the power to change their attire, surroundings, and experience. (I know, it is as ridiculous as it sounds.) The idea behind this advertisement is shared in the final words of the clip: “It (having the ability to control what we put into our water) changes everything.” As we think of life, ‘choice’ does play a vital role in determining the roads we travel and the events we face. We, all, have those ‘defining moments’ that impact and direct our lives. This Sunday, we will be concluding our sermon series, Jesus: Myth, Madman, or Messiah, and you are invited to join us as we consider the implications of making our toughest choice ever.
