Sunday Safety Note Fall is coming. In a month many of you will be making trips to the park to camp and backpack into our many backcountry canyons. It is never too late to start your planning. Before you make your plans visit our website: nps.gov/deva and under “Things To Do” check out Backcountry Camping and Hiking icons. You will find vital information to get you started and pointed in the right direction. This is a great resource that probably answers many of your questions. Of course if you still have questions definitely get in touch with one of our rangers here at the park. We can’t stress enough to always have updated maps and knowledge about the places you are going to in backcountry even if you have done the trip many times. Road conditions, water resources in the backcountry can change and it is good to know these things before you get out in the backcountry areas of the park. (nm)
