Sundays Results: Barry Cup Semi Final: Roscrea United A 6-0 Nenagh Celtic B Goals: Eoin Shanahan x3, John Pio, John Cordial, Robbie Ryan. Roscrea United book themselves into the second cup final of their inaugural season in style with the demolition of a though Nenagh Celtic side. Eoin Shanahan scored 3 stunning goals to deal his first hat trick of the season, 2 of which taken first time on the volley, which were unsavable, the other from a very tight angle with his bad foot. Also on the score sheet again was John Cordial who made a mazing run through the middle to meet the end of a cross with a strong head while the goal scoring was open by a stunning Robbie Ryan volley who hit the ball straight from the cross as he was falling away. The club captain continued his goal scoring run with the second in the game with a real poachers effort, John Pio has for scoring form at just the right time. The scoreline was even more impressive in that RUFC were missing a strikeforce with more than 60 goals between them this season, the recently emigrated David McNamara and suspended Paul Kirwan. With 7 league games left the cup final will be a big day to break up the league run. Knowing that Borrisokane FC are to travel to Roscrea next Sunday this result will be a boost. Fast Food Cup 2nd Round Cloughjordan B 2-2 Roscrea United B (Cloughjordan win on penalties) Goals: Own Goal, (Awaiting second goalscorer) RUFC B bowed out of the fast food cup in cruel fashion, having been behind twice and missing a host of chances. Cloughjordan played well at home and make it through to the semi final. It may give the B team a boost knowing that they travel to Cloughjordan again Sunday in what will be a huge game in where the league ends up, Kennedy Park will travel in force for this one!!
