Supreme Court just ruled in 2012 (US v Jones) that tracking a vehicle via GPS is a search under the 4th amendment that requires a warrant. Now police can just collect data that does the same thing for every person regardless of even a suspicion of criminal motive? I think not. Im pretty apolitical on Facebook, but the growing power of our police state needs to raise the concern of ACLU liberals, and CATO conservatives alike. Police should react to crime, and through their presence provide a feeling of safety. They should not data mine without warrants, invade homes with impunity, or murder without consequence. I support police and their commitment to protect and serve. I do not support a police state.
