Surekha Chatterjee asks: What to do with the persons who pretend to be very friendly but they are actually very selfish, untrue and play with our trusts ? Dear Surekha, I would look within to see how I attracted such people in my life. Somewhere within, I must have the vibration that attracts into my life people that are difficult to deal with. Perhaps there is some fear in dealing with people in an intimate manner, typically due a past negative experience. Perhaps I have a hard time trusting people in general. Perhaps I have a strong belief that most people are selfish and pretentious, that the truly good people are few and far between. Realize that this universe supports all kinds of people and situations. All possibilities exist in consciousness. However, what we predominantly attract into our life is a function of who we are within. Begin by taking note of and appreciating all the people in your life that are truly friendly, unpretentious and trustworthy. Be grateful to have them in your life. Give thanks to them, mentally as well as verbally. As we work on healing ourselves and expecting more and more good people to show up, over time, our life experiences will surely improve. In the meanwhile, whenever there is a negative experience, downplay it as exception to the general rule, that people are good and trustworthy. Give the person the benefit of doubt. Let go of any judgement and condemnation, and empathize with the person instead. With Love, Sudhir
